In prior GoldMine editions (pre GM 8), additional contacts were automatically added to an existing company’s record. In GoldMine 8 or newer, the contact is a completely separate record with a relationship automatically formed. This ensures that if the original company ceases to be a record in your data base, the additional contact record will still be preserved. Here’s how you add an additional contact to an existing company:

  1. Open the existing company record to making it the “active” contact.
  2. Click the down arrow to the right of the “New Company” button to enter the “New Contact”.
  3. Select “Auto-fill with Primary Address” if the additional contacts address is the same as the existing company. (phone info is not copied)
  4. Select the “Create Duplicate Record” option in the lower-left corner if you want to copy more than just the physical address. (copies virtually all the fields from the existing company, but still allows you to edit any of the fields as necessary)
  5. Press “Ok” to create the additional record.
